1/ There really has been a sea change I've noticed lately with regard to both the #LipidTriad and the #LMHR phenotype.

I'm not going to call anyone out, but I will say there are many who I had several spirited discussions in the past few years...
2/ ...who considered high LDL = "high" risk, full stop...

... but are now expressing #LMHRs may actually be at "low" risk of cardiovascular disease (in spite of having LDL in the 95% of the pop), just that they "could be better" if they have these LDL levels lower than they are.
3/ It's worth emphasizing their position hasn't changed with regard to higher LDL = *more risk* of CVD. Thus, it would still be better for #LMHRs to have lower LDL, all else being equal.

But the magnitude of difference in the assumed risk has changed for many.

1/ My presentation to @stanford on the Lipid Energy Model is now up at my channel.

It was a great honor to be invited and discuss my research, experiments, and this hypothesis in depth.

Lots of discussion on #LDL #HDL #Cholesterol #ApoB and #LipidTriad
2/ For many of you who have followed my work for a while, this will feel like review. But this presentation challenged me to tie everything together as best I could for a non-#keto/#lchf audience at a university level. Given the feedback /retention, it appears to have gone well..
3/ Of course, there's quite a lot that it *not* covered, and indeed I wanted to squeeze a bit more into it. Sometimes I wish I could summarize the energy delivery throughput and cross my fingers everyone at a certain level will get it. But that's been the biggest challenge...

1/ Meanwhile, back in the Land of Lipids...

If I seem a lot less active lately, it's because I'm prepping for something big next week. I'll tell you all about it in 7 days ;)

However, there are also two lipid-related things that have been underway that I'm very exited about..
2/ One is that I've been having a very exhaustive conversation with @NutritionDanny and Alan Flanagan of #SigmaNutritionRadio via email the last several days regarding the #LipidTriad and I think it's be very productive and respectful...
3/ Two, a while ago I tasked @siobhan_huggins with doing a review on studies for #Cholesterol/#Lipoproteins and #Viruses. As usual she's knocked it out of the park. Should be launching early next week on CholesterolCode.com, of course.

@CliveBeaufoy @BioLayne I appreciate @BioLayne's reference to nuance -- something I'm looking to get with LDL in particular and the importance of looking it in the context of HDL and triglycerides.

And yes, to @thatlowcarbguy's point, NHANES has many examples of LDL assoc longevity such as this... Image
@CliveBeaufoy @BioLayne @thatlowcarbguy There's also the only centenarians in the current dataset (those making it to 100 and still counted as "assumed alive"). Four of the five had low TG, five of the five high HDL, and five of the five with high LDL taken 15 years earlier. #LipidTriad
@CliveBeaufoy @BioLayne @thatlowcarbguy Many insist the lower LDL=greater ACM is actually "reverse causality", but I haven't seen this yet in the NHANES data. In fact, I ran it all they way out to 10 years - excluding any deaths occurring in that time frame to help rule out reverse causality.
