The big news came at midnight #Ukraine time, when rockets started landing in #Kherson region and again on the Antonivskyi Bridge.

The first news from #Kherson is not overly good for #Ukraine. Although the Antonivskyi bridge was hit, the structure still stands and is still passable.

#Russia's state new agency TASS says there is "no damage" which is highly unlikely.

Meanwhile as #Ukraine's army edges closer to #Kherson, the trolling of Russians and collaborators in the city looks to have moved up a notch.

While the "grain deal" was announced on Friday, it also passed unnoticed that the EU had "given in" over #Kaliningrad and abandoned the blockade of the Russian exclave.

The first train form #Russia, with 60 carriages of cement arrived in the night.

Missed this yesterday, but good to see Graham Phillips added to the UK sanctions list.

Repeatedly breaking international law to go to his Kremlin paid "job", Phillips has tried to reinvent himself as the 21st century Lord Haw-Haw

Later (today/tomorrow) the number of dead Russian soldiers will top 40,000 in #Ukraine's daily estimates.

In his night-time address, President Zelenskyy urged everyone who has family or connections with #Russia to spread the truth as the Kremlin refuses to publish such news.

Meanwhile 3 helicopters were sent by the occupiers to attack #Ukraine positions, but on their way back Russia's OWN air-defence fire hit them, downing one of the Ka-52s.

#Ukraine also reports it had already liberated the village of #Lozovo as well as Andriivka.

Both are near the state border with #Mykolaiv, in the north west of #Kherson region.

From the sounds it could be air defence, but difficult to say with any certainty.

Action in #Donetsk also overnight. Still waiting for news of any missiles landing or damage.

Over the border, inside #Russia, resident of the Dubrovo in #Belgorod region report hearing loud sounds and explosions.

After 5 months of war, so many grieving families on both sides.

Occupiers say the Antonivskyi/Antonivka/Antonovsky road bridge in #Kherson is closed for repairs after #Ukraine's #HIMARS attack.

Collaborator Kyrylo Stremousov said the structure's integrity remains sound. He added "Ukraine also made an attempt to strike a railway bridge"

The occupiers are making news reports about damage to the main road bridge in #Kherson.

#Ukraine confirms it carried out the attack to seriously disrupt #Russia's military routes.

There are also unconfirmed media reports of strikes on the Darivka road bridge and a rail bridge

A new investigation by the excellent @SimonOstrovsky reveals #Russia did hit a military facility in #Mykolaiv last week, with up to 50 #Ukraine soldiers and officers killed.

There's a shortage of teachers in #Russia. Despite that, they are being offered double salary to teach in #Donbas in occupied Ukraine.

So many left the region as the war escalated and some refuse to teach the new Russian propaganda curriculum.

They hope they can contain it.

The first ferry with cargo has arrived in occupied #Mariupol since the start of the full invasion in February.

The line from #Yeysk in #Russia is a daily service run by Moscow's Defence Ministry. They say it can carry up to 700 tons of cargo, inc. 20 trucks and 130 passengers.

#Donetsk's Russian administration says already today 5 people have been injured by shelling.

Three were hurt on the Kirovsky district of the occupied city itself, while a little further afield there was one injury in both #Horlivka and #Yasynuvata.

The campaign to make Boris Johnson an honorary Ukrainian then appoint him as #Ukraine's next Prime Minister, is gathering pace.

Another person's died after shelling in #Bakhmut.
#Ukraine continues to defend the town.

A five-story apartment block was partially destroyed - a body was found in the ruins. Another person was found alive.

Meanwhile 2 bodies were removed from the rubble of a hotel hit earlier

Another fire looking suspiciously like a #Ukraine howitzer hit, in the occupied part of #Donetsk oblast.

In #Kherson it looks there's been another assassination attempt aimed at collaborators.

A car of the local "police" was damaged and two officers were injured. It's claimed an IED at the side of the road was responsible. The condition of the police is not known.

A chilling warning issued to collaborators in #Kherson.

The Kherson Resistance Movement (Rukh Oporu) posted a 7 minute video, warning that Russians and those helping them will "never be left alone"

The spokesman goes on to say they know much more about them than they imagine.

Big explosions reported in #Kharkiv in the last hour.

CCTV caught the moment of one arrival.

Early information is that 5 Iskander cruise missiles were fired. One seemed to malfunction, the others landed

#Ukraine has finally admitted that #Russia has taken control of the power plant in #Svitlodarsk (RU: #Svetlodarsk)

But @arestovych said this evening that the Kremlin knows it cannot seize all of #Donetsk yet, and is concentrating on defending their gains.

Sadly Russia has a long track record of snatching innocents to use as bargaining chips. It raises difficult questions about negotiating with terrorists.

A local government building in #Yaroslavl went up in smoke today.

The city is around 250km NW of #Moscow. Thirty people had to be evacuated from the burning building.
Cause unknown.

Breaking news from #Odesa/#Odessa this evening where there's a fire at the port.

No air raid sirens and no news of missiles being fired.

#Ukraine is hopeful the first grain to be exported from Odesa since the war, would leave before the weekend.

There's also one poor quality video of the fire tonight at the port in #Odesa.

To repeat it may not be down to #Russia, but nothing can be ruled out at this stage. No reports of missiles in #Odessa this evening.
