This is going to sound like a joke, but it’s not.

When they said “Make America Great Again” *this* is what they meant.

They were talking about white supremacy and treating brown people like animals.

Maybe you didn’t understand dogwhistles before. You do now. Do not forget it.

The GOP has known for over a decade that they were losing the demographic shifts in America. Their choice was to evolve away from racist dogwhistles and failed far-right policies or double down.

This is where that doubling down has led.

All the bothsidesism and “economic anxiety” excuses only proved to them that there were no consequences for continuing to double down. The GOP learned not to splinter after Perot. The far Left learned nothing from Nader.

And if they face no consequences for abusing children — ripping them from their parents and putting them into for-profit cages? That’s the ball game.

So, donate, march, be loud, do whatever you have to do, but more importantly — be ready for November.

It’s not enough to vote this time. You are going to have to get in the face of your family and friends. You’re going to have to impose personal consequences. You’re going to have to push apathetic people in your circle to vote.

Be responsible not just for your own vote, but the voting rights of others. Make sure people are registered. Make sure they have ID if needed. Make sure they have transportation, or early voting plans, etc.

If you live in a state like mine (FL) know that absentee voting is possible for anyone that may feel they’re too immobile or disabled to make it to a polling place.

Apathy is not an option. Purity is not an option.

This is the ballgame.
