36 years ago today Vincent Chin was bludgeoned to death by two white laid-off autoworkers who mistook Chin as Japanese and blamed him for the loss of their jobs. Vincent was Chinese. Ebens and Nitz never served jail time or paid my family anything. Rest in power, uncle Vincent.
I speak up because an amazing Chinese Asian American woman did it 1st- my great-auntie Lily Chin. W/o a mother's courage, no one would know Vincent Chin's name today. Watching Lily in the doc "Who Killed Vincent Chin?" is utterly heartbreaking. Rest in power, great-auntie Lily.
Thanks for sharing Vincent Chin's story, @ShaunKing. Much appreciated 💛
