It's insane to me that there are so many forgotten game maps like this online that haven't been downloaded in ~10 years, just existing, preserved perfectly.

They feel more like physical places than "maps"- I used VR to walk around one and photographed some things there. (Thread)

Lots of small details are there, too - the map isn't just a bunch of building exteriors lumped together;

There's full interiors of buildings - here's the shop area and back room of a store that advertised "Cult Cola", haha. Really doubt many people remember this place.
Fake graffiti in a decades-old abandoned virtual city.
It makes me feel really weird that there's such a huge amount of these completely forgotten non-properties that were made by communities of now dead games. There should really be some sort of initiative to preserve/document them.
I might put up a github repo with some maps/tools/instructions on how to do this in VR, but I need to refine the process a little bit first. Right now it's too awkward.

Shoutout to the other @DrBeef for helping me get started with this, and to @dot_bsp for posting similar stuff!
