left: the "AI generated" portrait Christie's is auctioning off right now

right: outputs from a neural network I trained and put online *over a year ago*.

Does anyone else care about this? Am I crazy for thinking that they really just used my network and are selling the results?
I've been trying to play it off and spin it positively - when news people have asked me about this event I usually just try and mention actual AI artists and say to check out their work instead, but this is *really* becoming incredibly upsetting.

The Balenciaga AI is getting better! sort of! 🤖👠

Really love the super high shoulders/collar on the left outfit- and the two-tone shoes! Also the right outfit shows it's learning colour coordination to an extent.

Wish it would learn how to make faces that weren't so freaky...
Obviously this stuff isn't ready to take to a seamstress or anything, but I definitely think some of it could be used to augment the creativity of a designer- like in the first image instead of giving that person a bag, the AI just puts a big compartment on the side of her pants.
Interesting colours and patterns...

It's insane to me that there are so many forgotten game maps like this online that haven't been downloaded in ~10 years, just existing, preserved perfectly.

They feel more like physical places than "maps"- I used VR to walk around one and photographed some things there. (Thread)
This is what I mean when I say "photographed" - that's my VR controller
Lots of small details are there, too - the map isn't just a bunch of building exteriors lumped together;

There's full interiors of buildings - here's the shop area and back room of a store that advertised "Cult Cola", haha. Really doubt many people remember this place.

Spent yesterday trying to make the AI generated nude portraits look more photographically realistic with cycleGAN - the results are alright so far; I really hope that it'll start hallucinating more instead of just changing the surface color/texture

Woah - twitter like, *instantly* flagged these as being sensitive;

With the original ai generated nude portraits it only flagged a small portion of them after a few days.

Does this mean I'm doing something right?

Over a year ago I tweeted about the unchecked and sanctioned sexual harassment in the media and broadcasting industry of Malaysia.

Retweeting some of them in a thread now.

Because one year later, an email alleges it is happening even in what some think as a “woke” place.
There is an absolute MCP of a board member in a media company that I know who said
in meetings that all female personalities must be interviewed personally by him before hired.

He also jokes that to get bigger numbers at events they should wear bikinis.
Same MCP Board member in another meeting said to a female HOD (with management present) that since all seats were occupied, she had to choose between sitting on HIS lap or the CEO’s lap (also male).

He said it in a room of about 20 people, so yes, as you can imagine, he’s trash.

Over a year ago we were filming for around 30 hours, I was trying to keep myself awake reading yoonmin fics. It was 5am when we had to pack the equipment, and when I was in the bus I thought finally I’m going to sleep, but then I refreshed the page and this fic was first on it
It was the update for the first chapter, and I read the prologue and then the update and suddenly I couldn’t sleep. I was incredibly tired, we had worked all day and night, but when you find something that seems made for you it doesn’t matter because I only wanted to read more
I’ve read Cotton Candy updates in class, in buses stops, on the way to uni, on my way back, reread them on my house while I waited for the next update. Read all of mintsoda’s works 💖 There’s something so genuine about the way they write the boys, I felt like watching a movie

Over a year ago, "beatmastrJ" started to post photos in the DIY section of the Something Awful forums. Here was the bathroom as it was and a sketch of the plan.
Upgrades included new lighting and electrical plus a medicine cabinet. There is a lack of GFCI here but it isn't the worst thing.
The way the wall studs were cut bothers me too but here's how it looks with the drywall all mudded.
