1/ When taking office, the President makes this oath:
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

2/ The 14th Amendment to the Constitution says, “… nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.”
3/ Note the phrasing: “any person”. Not citizen, not visitor, not immigrant, legal or otherwise. Just “any”. *Every* person gets to enjoy the equal protection of the law. SCOTUS has even ruled this way. thehill.com/blogs/pundits-…
4/ The 5th Amendment makes the same case, saying due process is the Constitutional right of *everyone*. It’s the only thing mentioned specifically twice in the Constitution. Clearly, the Founders saw this as critical. law.cornell.edu/wex/due_process
5/ Now, Trump tweeted this on Sunday. 
6/ He is advocating for a suspension of due process, a Constitutional right of people on our soil. These people — “any” people — do indeed have these rights. SCOTUS has ruled such. thehill.com/blogs/pundits-…
7/ By his tweet, Trump is actively trying to undermine the United States Constitution. A document he is sworn to preserve, protect, and defend.
8/ This deserves, at the VERY least, a censure from Congress.

10/ If he is so willing to suspend due process for a people who *explicitly* have that right, who’s next? Protestors? You?
11/ We have always been concerned about creeping fascism, but what to do when it comes at a gallop? And when we have a silent GOP Congress complicit in enabling it?
