I listened to a random spotify polka playlist on the bus all the way downtown...and then suddenly remembered that my German grandfather’s family used to break out the polka 45s at family parties. o_0
My grandpa & dad were both the babies of the family, and this was an older generation thing - so at the last event where that happened, I might have been 4 or 5.
I totally didn’t remember that until this morning my subconscious was like ~~“OOM PAH MUSIC YOU WANT OOM PAH MUSIC”~~

I don’t remember things very well, in general. I can’t replay important events in my head, or remember exactly what anyone said. Just a few weeks after an event I should remember, I’m often left with an emotional impression (i.e. how I felt about it) but I lose everything else.
But suddenly this morning I had this vivid memory of staring at the huge heavy wooden piece-of-furniture record player. I remember how worn the carpet was in front, where they’d stand to pick out records.
