Become a freelance copywriter gave me 2 things:
1) Ability to work from anywhere
2) Chance to write for a living
But those aren't the only perks that come with the gig...
Check it out:
Instead of college or university, where you commit $1000s of dollars upfront to acquire a valuable skill, you can get started as a freelance copywriter with nothing but free information.
Plus, you’re getting paid to learn AND climb the ladder at da same time.
As a freelancer, you get to basically “spy” on the businesses you’re hired to work for.
You can see exactly how they structure their business, offers, lists, promos, etc. Priceless intel for any young copy Padawan or aspiring biz owner.
You’ll develop connections that can turn into great friendships or even business partnerships.
One of my best friends is a copywriter I used to work with back in my agency days. We talk on the phone for an hour every week... and we’ve never met in person.
Becoming a freelance copywriter gives you a virtually unlimited # of ways you can generate income.
Plus, if you don’t want to keep writing for clients, you can always start your own business. Or better yet - do both.
Every new project or client is another chance to give yourself a raise.
Now I’m not saying to fleece your clients, but as your skills (and the RESULTS you can provide) grow, so should your fees.
Being a skilled writer makes you better at everything else.
Effectively communicating your ideas is key to getting what you want in life. Mad persuasion skillz come in handy anywhere and everywhere - no matter what you do.
How you write is how you think. As you become a better writer, you'll also become a better thinker.
And becoming a better thinking means you'll grow and level up your life much faster.
Just a few of the many reasons why being a freelance copywriter is the bee's knees.
