Hapana. Let me say something about this.

Business people are being absolutely hypocritical making noise about graduates' language skills, when they are the same ones dancing around mourning about how the arts are a waste of time (language is not part of STEM they keep praising)
Let me tell you how language skills get thrown under the bus. And it's not social media. Forget what Kaimenyi said. And it's not sheng either.

It's the "market" nonsense that has been drilled into students by the same private sector.
Thanks to business guys singing about entrepreneurship, students don't want to study anything but business. 20% (ONE FIFTH) of uni students are taking business studies. They cannot be caught dead doing language classes because the same business sector says the arts are useless.
Even heads and lecturers of those business schools don't care about language. They don't require students to write in complete sentences. Classes notes are bullet points and exams notes are bullet points. And they won't dare hire anyone to teach language. It's a "waste of time"
Language requires constant practice and correction. It's not one of those "talent" things. Students aren't writing in uni, and they come from high schools where they don't write much either. They're drilled on composition topics and only have one or two compositions a term
So these business types need to back off the graduates and employ them as they are. They are the ones who make this mess. You help politicians loot government, government doesn't spend much on teachers or good schools, then you support them in the arts-bashing...c'mon!
Private sector is getting what it's refusing to pay for. They should deal.

And let them not say unemployment is due to poor quality of graduates. Heck no. Unemployment is capitalists who make money from public resources that would be used for better education for those graduates
