Pull your bootstraps, and get a second and third jobs minimum wage ( that never increased) like every single mother with cut safety nets. If you can drive a tractor you can Fucking drive a cab or @Uber. No freeloading.

Now, if you needvfacts, about 50 people an hour cross into the United States with valid visa and overstay after their visas expires, making them out of status and “undocumented immigrants”

I try to escape my bubble as much as a I can. My old face book page is 99% my old life. So I go back there every once in a while just to see what the nut jobs are up to. But this last time was a stark reminder to never go back.

A short story of the times: 👇
I have this old "friend." We met in the 90's. We were ravers. We broke into warehouses, danced + took drugs. We rebelled against the "man". We were culture warriors at a time when the culture war meant more freedoms for all.

Now she's a lawyer and has become the establishment.
She has a law degree from Georgetown University. She was a clerk at the Supreme Court. She left a high paying Big Law job to become a federal public defender, because she has the luxury of choosing whatever career she wants.

She owns a home, has a dog, and is single.

Good piece. I too am skeptical of the Bank's new "Famine Action Mechanism" - I fear it misdiagnoses the problem. 1/
The selling points of the Bank's mechanism seem to be 1) better predictive data, and 2) Bank resources directed based on that data.

These are good things, but nowhere near the game changer the Bank is selling it as.

Food crisis prediction is *already* very, very, very accurate. The IPC process does a good job of this, as does USAID's FEWSNET system.

For example, the 2011 Somali famine was declared in July, but FEWSNET began ringing the alarm 6 months earlier.

Something I've noticed: the corporate establishment doesn't know how to deal with socialists running for office. They tried ignoring me, and when that didn't work they tried redbaiting. That didn't work either, so they're smearing @Ocasio2018 and @SalazarSenate18 (1/15)

In 2018, a worker earning $7.25/hr must work an extra 41 days—more than 2 additional months!—just to earn the same amount as she did in a single year when the federal minimum wage was last increased. 2/x
