Trump: "We had a big day. Very big." He says he's launching a new phase of close friendship with the EU, "in which both of us will win."
Trump: "We agreed today...to work toward 0 zero tariffs. 0 non-tariff barriers, and 0 subsidies on non-auto industrial goods."
Trump: "We will also work to reduce barriers and increase trade" in a number of areas, like medical devices, "as well as soybeans."
Trump says the EU has agreed to immediately start buying more US soybeans.

So far, though, this doesn't sound like a major deal - sounds like a deal like the North Korea deal was a deal.
Trump: Europe is going to become a "massive buyer" of US liquefied natural gas. They'll also launch a close dialogue on various trade-improving things, such as reforming the WTO.
Trump: We are setting up "a working group of very intelligent people."
Here's the big part, though still vague: Trump says, "We also will resolve the aluminum and steel tariff issues and we will resolve retaliatory tariffs...that will get resolved as part of what we're doing."
Trump did not say anything about auto tariffs other than to say they have a deal on "non-auto" matters.
Juncker: All of this is on the understanding that we will refrain from further tariffs. He also doesn't specifically mention autos.
Trump has left without taking any of the many questions those vague statements raised.
So...possibly, tentatively, maybe good news for Canada? Trump's auto-tariff focus is Europe, and Juncker says Trump and Europe have agreed to no new tariffs while they're doing these negotiations. But this is vague, and who knows.
Tone has changed, but it's not over. Trump merely said the steel/aluminum tariffs, and retaliatory tariffs against those tariffs, would be "resolved as part of what we're doing." No timelines or commitments. And no specifics on auto tariffs.
The written joint statement from Trump and Juncker is super vague: The very last sentence is, "We also want to resolve the steel and aluminum tariff issues and retaliatory tariffs." Zero specifics. europa.eu/rapid/press-re…
The written statement also does not include a specific promise to not impose any tariffs during these talks. (It does say "we will not go against the spirit of this agreement" during negotiations.) And it does not include a specific promise to buy more soybeans.
