“And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me,

“And (all) the Most Beautiful Names belong to Allaah, so call on Him by them, and leave the company of those who belie or deny (or utter impious speech against) His Names” Qur'an 7:180
“When one of you prays, let him start with praise of Allaah, then let him send blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ , then let him ask whatever he likes after that.” At-Tirmidhi (Sahih At-Tirmidhi)
“Invoke your Lord with humility and in secret” Qur'an 7:55

“Verily, they used to hasten on to do good deeds, and they used to call on Us with hope and fear, and used to humble themselves before Us” Qur'an 21:90
Allaah loves to be asked.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Remember Allaah during times of ease and He will remember you during times of hardship.” Narrated by Ahmad.
"Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!" [al-Baqarah 2:201]
Making du’aa’ to Allaah and asking of Him and putting one's trust in Him are all acts of worship that are prescribed in Islam.
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Du’aa’ is worship.” Then he recited the verse

“And your Lord said: ‘Invoke Me, I will respond to your (invocation). Verily, those who scorn My worship [i.e. do not invoke Me,] they will surely enter Hell in humiliation!”

[Ghaafir 40:60
The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever does not make du’aa’ to Allaah, He will be angry with him.”

This was narrated by al-Haakim, who classed it as saheeh, and al-Dhahabi agreed with him. It is a hasan hadeeth.
Sincerely relying on Allaah and entrusting one’s affairs to Him are a means of being protected from all ills.
The words “and I entrust my affair to Allaha” mean: I submit my affairs to Allaah and leave them to Him, and I rely on Him, for He will suffice the one who puts his trust in Him.
