If I told you that people are blocking a condo that's been slated for the last *checks watch* ten years over concerns about sunlight and dog poop, in the SFBA, you might accuse me of lack of charity, so just read this piece and draw your own conclusions.
As an adult between the age of 22 and 37 I enthusiastically approve of the city of Berkeley building homes for both my people and also other quirky subcultures who prefer having homes to not having homes. 
I live in Tokyo, in a 9 story building adjacent to single family housing to the east and west. This city block has somewhere in the neighborhood of 350 doors housing probably just under a thousand people.
