with the exception of the 8/6 charlottesville city council meeting, i believe all known city & county meetings to brief the public on what to expect the weekend of august 10-12 have come and gone.
at a may 29th city council retreat, we were told there would be "at least two" town halls on the matter thisOoqnMC1chw
the first community briefing held by the city of charlottesville to discuss the anniversary of A12 was held on july 12.

they had the same lineup of folks at the july 16th city council meeting, but they did not take questions -- does that count as a "town halve7hcvRiwU
there was a meeting on july 26th that wasn't announced to the general public or published on the city's calendar -- it was geared toward residents of north downtown & downtown business owners. is it still a town hall if it's only for business owneDD4z
there was a presentation today at the albemarle county board of supervisors meeting by many of the same folks who spoke on the panel the city put on, but they did not take questions from the audience.

charlottesville city employees will be briefed tomorrow morning on the city's preparations for the weekend of august 10-12.
so, by my count there has actually been *ONE* town hall. definitions vary widely, but it's pretty clear to me -- there has been *ONE* event that was publicized widely, attended by the community, and allowed for Q&A from the general public.
the street closures, discussed at each of these events, were made public on july 20.

at the july 26th meeting, police chief brackney made a number of remarks about the street closures without fully addressing why water street, at the intersection of last year's deadly white supremacist terrorist attack, will remain open on the anniversary.
