One guy used a bogus analogy as an argument to disenfranchise countless people. One guy had spicy mustard. Even steven.
AND you do not need to present photo ID to use a damn credit card in a Gristedes. Catsimatidis doesn’t know how his own business works, and NYT doesn’t correct him.

This also needs context. More people are harmed by a federal government shutdown than federal employees. Native American communities, in particular, are immediately adversely affected. As the shutdown continues, the harms expand and multiply throughout the country’s population.
There are businesses that rely on the federal government as a customer—contractors of all sorts and sizes—and as a landlord—e.g. vendors at national parks. People who own and work for those businesses are harmed by the interruption of their income.
Scientists missing their grant funds, journalists who can’t access public records, inventors who can’t get their patents, entrepreneurs who can’t get business licenses ... This bit of context is, in all likelihood, barely scratching the surface of harms flowing from the shutdown.

Maloni’s ‘clarification’ would harmonize this Madrid trip to meet Kilimnik with one referred to in another filing from the Special Counsel, though; on October 31, 2017, they wrote Manafort had been to Madrid ”within the last year.” cdn.cnn.com/cnn/2017/image…
But, if Maloni is correct, it leaves open a rather large question: why would Manafort be sharing 2016 polling data with Kilimnik 2-3 months *after* the election (when, if you don’t work for Nate Silver, it’s of extremely limited use)?

In 2004 I was in Florida going door to door, and in the heavily Democratic districts I was told - over and over - that the "Official Democrat" had already come by and said people weren't allowed to vote because they did not have 2 ID's and a major credit card.
Also that week, at the polling station, the lines were 8 hrs long (cause they'd closed a lot of stations in the urban areas), & I stood behind election commissioner Buddy Johnston, who said "The lines are crazy, we have to get this on the news (to discourage people from coming)."
I was working the polls all week (basically providing water and snacks to keep people in line so they could vote), and every night the electronic voting machines would go into a Ryder rental truck - UNSUPERVISED - where they would spend the night at Buddy Johnston's office. How..

Manafort Trial Day 9: There are four govt witnesses left -- three appear to have ties to Federal Savings Bank, and two were given immunity. The govt has alleged the head of a bank (believed to be FSB) engaged in a quid pro quo, loan money for a Trump campaign/possible admin job
Assuming there aren't delays, the govt has said it expects to finish presenting its case in chief today. Then, the judge will ask Manafort's lawyers if they plan to put on any witnesses, or submit any motions. He doesn't have to. And then it's the weekend.
Things have consistently been tense between the judge and prosecutors throughout the trial, and that came to a bit of a head yesterday. For more on that: buzzfeednews.com/article/zoetil…

I've had a job for half my life and I'm realizing my financial mindset hasn't changed. I'm still living like I'm a single 18 year old and not a homeowner, spouse and mother of two. Here's an ongoing thread of financial resources that I'm implementing or planning to use.
I made this video to kick off the year. When I did these things faithfully, I saw my debt decrease.
I'll start small. If I purchased frivolously within the last few weeks, I take back the items that I didn't need. I just bought $30 worth of matte lipsticks this weekend. They are all going back. That's $30 extra dollars I could have put on my car note or student loans.
