Someone who believes politics or religion or philosophy or history or myth are tainted by your identity is tacitly arguing that your identity has no place in politics or religion or philosophy or history or myth. 
The idea that there exists some pure version of politics completely purged of any consideration of identity, which is the only true version worth contemplating.
And that you of all people happen to occupy that position.
