I was at #CAST2018
It was a lovely conference
This is my 3rd CAST in 10 years
The first CAST I attended - I didn't have the money to pay for tickets or stay.
@michaelbolton gifted me a ticket through his miles and also let me stay at his home
I also met @JerryWeinberg there.
On the morning of #CAST2018 is when the news leaked that Jerry had passed away to continue his work with Virginia Satir

I wasn't sure what to think because in my mind Jerry has no death. Physical, yes.
Are we really associating just physical existence as "life"?
I am sure @JerryWeinberg had moved himself beyond physical existence even when he was alive. That is why we succeeded because we felt he was with us helping us through the wisdom he had made us believe it is our own.
Evidence : I go to @lperold workshop that day morning in #CAST2018 and she was very emotional since she had planned to present things to us partly inspired by Jerry's teaching.

I saw Jerry came alive, physically, in her form. So where is death really?
I don't yet miss @JerryWeinberg because in everything I do, he is so embedded that there is no taking him out of me in my work and life. I believe he has been successful in replicating this effect in many people. #CAST2018
When I met @JerryWeinberg in CAST 2008 - I gifted him Rabindranath Tagore Poetry book since he mentioned to me once that he loves his poetry. Turns out that Rabindranath Tagore and Jerry share the same "death" date. #CAST2018
Jerry leaving us means more responsibility on the shoulders of people who he has influenced and left behind to SHAPE up the world. A true way to thank Jerry is by helping create more smart people and helping them be happy and continue being happy.

#CAST2018 has made some good memories for me

1. @DawnMHaynes played a mother role to make the conference a great success.

2. @ericproegler - this is was the first time I was meeting him. Boy oh Boy! He is serious about improving the state of testing.
3. @QualityFrog - I spent some very quality time with him. We are friends for long and this conference gave us the opportunity to get the "friends time"

4. @ilarihenrik and I caught up over a beer. Strange! Very good businesses conversation mixed with good testing sense.
5. @mheusser looks wiser and more calm. Loved that he was sporting a beard just like I did. Need to spend more time next time we meet.

6. @sbarber was kind to show up and felt really lovely meeting him. He is powerful and energetic as always.
7. @charrett was very kind. I have grown up admiring her and I felt a good connect this time although we spoke very little.

8. @mariakedemo - so good to meet her again. We discussed about testing in Ikea and she left her water bottle for me at the airpot :)
9. Is Rob Sab on twitter? We had dinners together and I sought his (free) consulting for my companies.

10. @FriendlyTester - the perfect boss for MOT now. @rosiesherry is certainly lucky. I have a demo pending to you - will arrange soon :)

#CAST2018
11. @PaulHolland_TWN - this guy is crazy and the world knows it already :) Thanks for the whiskey glass and yes - "scaffolding" it is.

12. @NoelWurst and his wonderful boys were at the conference. This is my super highlight of #CAST2018
13. @sdhanasekAR - I spent a pretty good time with him. Thanks for being my travel buddy - except the last return flight :)

The reason why you should go to conferences like #CAST2018 with colleagues like him is because they help you learn more.
14. Meeting @johncutlefish and his talk about parallels of UX, Design, Product & Test. He said, "Product Managers community go through the same experiences as Testing community". Bringing him was a good step by @ericproegler and @mariakedemo to bridge communities. #CAST2018
15. @SimonSaysNoMore is a child at heart and action. Very happy to see someone who is happy to see me. Supported facilitation at #CAST2018

17. I also had the pleasure of meeting @sbarber son who did a great job helping the conference happen smooth and nice.
18. Have been to @techgirl1908 talk at #oredev and I think she flows like water. Congrats to @ApplitoolsEyes for a partnership.

19. Susan Finley's talk had a powerful twist & pretty good lessons to those transforming testing practices in large enterprises.

20. I had a lovely conversation with @lakeicychill by the beach. I was alone enjoying the beauty of the beach. He came walking up to me with a beer in hand and I enjoyed our conversations. I got some ideas on ways I could be more useful based on this conversation.

#CAST2018
21. @lunivore and I caught up by the music band and I was curious to explore into her experience based on her keynote. #CAST2018

22. @erikld isn't green anymore :) Would have loved to see the green. Why didn't I see him in the bar? Ah! he was at games.
23. @lisacrispinI - I wish to be as strong, calm and as focused as her when I grow up. I love her donkeys.

24. I thought I was done with #CAST2018 when I boarded the plane back home. Guess who sits next to me on the flight? @LenaPejgan - conferring continued on the plane.
25. I think there are many people I discovered in this conference and had a good short conversation about and there is a good list of people whose twitter handles I should find. #CAST2018

Please tweet or remind me if our paths crossed at this conference.
Thanks to everyone who made #CAST2018 possible.

Special thanks to @michaelbolton for bringing me over to #CAST2008. I could afford my own plane ticket in #CAST2018 :)
To everyone who got to this point in the thread, see ya at #CAST2019
