The Google employees who signed a letter requesting "more transparency, a seat at the table, and a commitment to clear and open processes" in response to the company's secret work on a censored Chinese search service are right.

We join the 1400 signers of the letter protesting Project Dragonfly, and ask Google what the human rights costs will be of abandoning its 2010 decision to reject the Chinese government's arbitrary and expanding censorship efforts.

In 2008, Google helped write the Global Network Initiative's guidance on entering countries "where freedom of expression and privacy are not well protected."
