1. Looking more & more like DT torched himself when he fired @Comey. Made inevitable the appointment of a special counsel, which is bad news for any president let alone one w/his background & vulnerabilities.
2. Mueller has gone after his associates remorselessly one by one. Tossed Cohen to SDNY because Stormy and taxicab medallions aren't tied to Russia probe. Smart move politically.
3. According to reports, he's still investigating others in Trump's orbit, such as Roger Stone. Numerous investigations proceeding on parallel tracks. Some visible, some less so.
4. All in all, Bannon was right. Firing Comey was stupidest mistake in modern American politics.
5. Trump's not done. But the pressure is growing, and he's increasingly dependent on the support of senior Republicans, some of who would probably like to replace him with Pence if they thought they could get away with it.
