Trump's approval ratings are at historic lows in the US, especially his strongly approve at 18%. While Trump's approval among Rs remains steady, there's evidence it's because the party is shrinking.

This #SundayMorning let's look at how the rest of the world sees Trump.

(2) After Helsinki, it's been a slow, certain slide for Trump's approval rating. Recent scandals regarding his involvement in payoffs with Cohen & tapes from Omarosa haven't helped either.

But what does the rest of the world think of this Presidency?

(3) The most recent information we have on this comes from early July, before Trump's capitulation to Putin in Helsinki at Treason Summit. And it doesn't paint a pretty picture.

First off, Russians like Trump. His approval rating (53%) is much higher than in the US. AWKWARD.
(4) The truly shocking thing though is this:
People around the world trust Putin's leadership more than they do Trump's.

Yeah. You heard that right. 26% have confidence in Putin as a world leader while just 22% expressed confidence in Trump.

(5) There are some numbers from January that can provide more specific insight beyond Russia. And it's all as bad as you think it might be.

In 65 countries, approval for America as a world leader dropped from 48% in 2016 to 30% earlier this year.

(6) In fact, disapproval for the US rose so steeply, that it broke Gallup poll records.

"The 43% median disapproval, up 15 points from the previous year, set a new record not only for the U.S. but for any other major global power that Gallup has asked about in the past decade."
(7) We lost the most ground, sadly, among close allies. Portugal, Belgium, Norway & Canada were the steepest declines. The US did have gains in approval, but they were among places like Liberia, Macedonia & Israel.

In fact, in the Americas, US approval plunged in EVERY region.
(8) It's clear that the "America First" policies that encourage nationalism hurt the US image around the world. And beyond the damage Trump's authoritarian Presidency has done to America, we'll be struggling with the fallout of his disastrous foreign policy for a long, long time.
(END) Thanks to @rodster20 for the #SundayMorning thread suggestion. Come back next week and we'll do this again.

Cheers!
