A very good article which mirrors some of my own observations in the lengthy FB write-up I did on the day it was released. Most of us devs have already written it off now. It's almost as if the top tier devs working on it, were on a paid vacation.
Us game devs are finicky, fair weather crybabies. You only get ONE chance to get us on board with ANYTHING. And if it's hw related, good luck with that because one mistake, and we get to completely, and without remorse, bury it. Without our apps, your hw is DOA. Period.
I have no idea what @magicleap was hoping to achieve with this MK1 release, but my guess is that they already know that, as far as we devs are concerned, we're not impressed. At all. It's a shame because they have some of the best people working on this.
I mean, we warned Microsoft about the same thing. Then we subsequently buried Hololens. Without hesitation. The VR market as a whole, is barely hanging on, and they might as well be back in the nineties flogging joysticks for a dying genre (flight sims).
My FB comment (public) thread from last month.

@CNET just rolled out this article today about Microsoft killing their VR hardware. Gee, I wonder why MS would do that.

This is a good YT video with devs discussing both HoloLens and ML1
