Polls just closed. It’s all over. Nothing to do but watch the results come in.

If I win, the next few months will be a free for all.

If I lose, I hope you will all understand. I’m going to take a step back from the public eye and recharge before starting 2020.

2/ A few thoughts about what we did right and where we can improve.

Our campaign raised almost $200,000. And truth be told, I did not put nearly the amount of work into this that I should have. For 2020, I’m going to spend more time on this and hire a much larger team.

3/ I’ve said this in interviews before, but my biggest mistake early on was NOT HIRING EXPERIENCED PEOPLE at the beginning.

I thought I could do it like a startup, and we could learn as we went.

By the time I realized that was a failing strategy, it was too late.

4/ Because of this, we kept reserves in the bank to hire people for 2020.

If you are an experienced Democratic operative, call me. I want to hire you for 2020.

5/ Things I did well: I think I found a way to migrate my rebel indie developer persona to politics.

This was very difficult. It’s hard for any woman to be authentic in the public eye - but I hope the real me still comes through.

6/ I also learned to give a damn good speech, but without falling back to empty soundbytes that feel canned and phony.

I learned I’m really good at working a room. If you see me before a speech, I usually work the crowd meeting everyone I can. I’m damned proud of these skills.

7/ I’m going to be honest with all of you.

I like developing videogames much more than being a politician. But this is PUBLIC SERVICE. We are literally trying to save this country.

America needs better leadership more than we need another videogame. So, I am here for good.
