Blimey, people get so boxed in by their own thinking.
The one thing they all seem dedicated to is that Theresa May must not resign.

They start with the assumption that Theresa May remains prime minister, and then they try and think their way out of Brexit, and it can't be done.
She's stuck.

She's got no majority, her party is split, she is bound to uphold the Good Friday agreement, and she has to negotiate a withdrawal agreement from the European Union. And they won't let her have another election.

So everyone starts scratching their head because nothing seems to work. Theresa May has driven herself down a dead end, she can't go forward and she can't go back.

The is only one answer. She's going to resign.

You're even treating the idea of a prime minister's resignation as a global catastrophe or something.
It's not a calamity, it's just a resignation of one prime minister who can't get anything done. There is always someone else to do the job.

And I've noticed this. As soon as a new prime minister takes over the job, the previous one is completely forgotten.

May goes, new prime minister, blank sheet, start again. I've seen how it works. How fast people disregard the previous occupant of that job.

Theresa May has to go because her government is a failure, and the country has to start again.
