Kavanaugh clerked for and remained close with former judge Alex Kozinski, who stepped down amid multiple allegations of harassment by former clerks (see: buzzfeednews.com/article/zoetil…). Hirono asks if Kavanaugh knew about allegations of harassment against Kozinski. Kavanaugh says no
Hatch had previously asked if Kavanaugh was on an email list that Kozinski used to have to send out sexually explicit and crude jokes. Kavanaugh said he didn't remember that. Hirono asks him about this again. He said doesn't remember "anything like that"
Hirono asks if Kavanaugh believes the women who came forward to accuse Kozinski. Kavanaugh replies, "I have no reason not to believe them, senator."
Asked what he would do if he became aware of a judge engaging in sexual harassment, Kavanaugh said he's report it to the appropriate judges on his court and the head of the judiciary's admin office. If he wasn't satisfied, he said he'd contact Chief Justice Roberts directly
