@ThomasWictor 1) Let me say something. Katrina was not New Orleans' hurricane, it was Mississippi's.
This is my neighborhood after. Miss was neglected by media coverage because of the incompetence of state and local Dem officials.
@ThomasWictor 2) But since the media loves tragedy and drama, nobody cared how we fared. We didn't exist.
@ThomasWictor 3) However, my government didn't forget us. We had no homes, and they furnished tents, cots and eventually FEMA trailers. The gov
even cleared our land for free so we could start to rebuild our lives.
@ThomasWictor 4) We had endless supplies of water and ice. We never ran out, even tho it looked like we might because the line of cars for pick up
was a mile long.
@ThomasWictor 5) Churches and charities (don't want to forget them) set up in our local Walmart parking lot, feeding us 3 meals a day, clothing and one
family from S. Carolina wanted to "adopt" my family for a new start. We decided to stick it out.
@ThomasWictor 6) FEMA also gave us grant money, and it wasn't chump change either. My gov was there for me. But the media, with their perfect storm, mixed with their love for division, made it look like our gov failed. I'm here to tell you,
it didn't.

There's your thread.
@ThomasWictor Another thing I forgot to add. Our government also gave us, who were homeless, rent and/or motel accommodations for 3 months after the storm. We didn't need it; we stayed with friends. But I knew a lot of families that greatly needed it.
