Interesting interview that's well worth a listen (starts just before 21 mins). Talks about backstop and how to reassure it's not a border in Irish Sea by emphasising technical nature of checks. Also how Brexit has brought a group of free trading nations closer together within EU.
In particular he gives a straightforward, succinct explanation of what the EU's position on the backstop is. Many will and do disagree with the arguments on constitutional status and the Irish Sea border, but this makes it very easy to see where the EU's coming from on this. 
And here are his remarks on the new free trading bloc emerging within the EU, which is going to be one of the fascinating internal developments caused by Brexit. A big question here will be how prepared the Netherlands is to take on a leadership role for this group of countries.
