Spokesman for Sen Charles Grassley R-IA says there have been talks, but no announcement on testimony by Ford; "will consult with his colleagues"
For those who were not around in 1991, Clarence Thomas testified first, then Anita Hill, then Thomas was brought back for more questions.
In 1991, the FBI finished its review of Hill's charges on September 26. Thomas & Hill then testified in a second Senate hearing on October 11-12
Here's the start of my notes from October 11, 1991. Sen Joe Biden D-DE was the chairman.

VP Pence now in meeting just off the House floor in Speaker Ryan's ceremonial office. Photos not allowed. Lots of security. Lots of reporters.
Secret Service seems especially skittish outside Pence meeting. We have been specifically warned not to push too closely for comment upon departure. Normally Pence walks by us without any issue.
Pence, Kushner, Mulvaney leave without comment. Meadows says talks are 'ongoing'

The millionaire, who supports Trump’s tariffs that led to major economic strain on American farmers, has accepted over $400,000 in farming subsidies for his 750 acre farm.
When Grassley’s office was asked about receiving bailouts, which Grassley helped design and push for, his spokesman, Michael Zona replied, “Sen. Grassley participates in farm programs for which he is legally eligible, including this program, like every other farmer.”
Grassley had already accepted $387,000 prior to his application for additional subsidies under the Trump bailout based on information obtained from EWG’s database. His latest request will place him well over the $400,000 marker.

The incident Ford described yesterday undoubtedly happened just as she described it.

And note that all the allegations against #Kavanaugh concern incidents where he was under the influence of alcohol, and that he SQUIRMED yesterday whenever his drinking was discussed. 1/3
There will undoubtedly be an FBI investigation now of “credible allegations” of sexual assault against #Kavanaugh.

So for the next week, there must be huge, unceasing national public discussion about alcoholism, loss of memory from inebriation etc., because that is key here. 2/3
#Kavanaugh knows that the more the FBI learns about his drinking problem, the more credible Ford’s testimony will appear to be, even to his supporters. 3/3
