3]inquiry designed to determine whether the nominee to a life time tenure job on the Supreme Court because the nominee has no right or entitlement to be a Supreme Court justice. Nor is there some presumption of guilt simply because someone has claimed the nominee has committed a
4]sexual assault as the wall st journal claimed today in an editorial. The real issue for these type of hearings is one of fair process: has the committee given both Ford and Kavanaugh a fair opportunity to present evidence in support/rebut the allegation. Such a fair opportunity
5] requires an independent investigation by the FBI into these allegations and the ability of both sides to present material witnesses. In the current political climate, that opportunity will not be offered to either party because the Republican Party is willing to
6] put Kavanaugh on the Court regardless of whether he engaged in sexual assaults during his youth. Their push to have a vote this week is simply a political power play. Their claim that the FBI is not qualified to do such an investigation is absurd. And trump's claim that these
7]allegations are politically motivated are beyond silly once you understand why most victims of sexual assault are not willing to pay the price that Ford has already paid once their allegations become public.
