re: LRT....@TracieHunte, we have a pretty exhaustive spectrum of euphemisms for "white people" in mainstream political discourse, and or white people with different social locations — "soccer moms," "NASCAR dads," "the working class," "evangelicals," "Appalachia."
@TracieHunte there are plenty Latinx/Black folks who might meet all of those little descriptors — well, maybe not "NASCAR dads" — but we all know when people use those terms, they mean white people. It would be healthier for everybody to make the white part of that explicit.
@TracieHunte Also, re: Tracie's point... think abt who is swept up in stop-and-frisk, "hot spot" policing, "additional screening" at the airport, etc...then think about who talking heads will cloak in the "presumption of innocence."
