- Coached friend in beating a polygraph. Claimed in testimony not to have done this. There is corroboration for this LIE through the written testimony under penalty of perjury from a former boyfriend.

The first challenge comes with Dr. Ford’s recollection of when the incident happened.

Her initial account to WaPo suggested it had happened in her “late teens.” But Kavanaugh was at Yale then. Her testimony then changed to 1982, contradicting text messages and therapist notes.
The change with regard to when she first named Kavanaugh as her attacker is significant because her legal team has pointed to therapist notes as evidence to support her charges. But the therapist notes don’t name Kavanaugh and have still not been submitted to the Senate.

Dr. Ford admitted she does not know who paid for the polygraph test. Knowing how Dr. Ford got in touch with the law firm that is representing her now is key, but her attorneys will fight tooth and nail for that not to be revealed.
Kavanaugh's Challenge

Fair or not, if Judge Kavanaugh is not as convincing in his testimony as Dr. Ford is in hers (she even specified the neurological mechanism involved in searing the memory of her trauma on to her hippocampus), the needle will move irreversibly against him.

I'm a sociologist who studies adolescent sexual violence. On this thread, I will be live tweeting the #Kavanaugh hearing, chiming in with sociological insights and research findings.
Full disclosure--I will probably step away for parts of it. While many conservatives have cast feminists as people who rejoice at allegations of sexual assault against powerful men, this is a painful process for us. We know survivors. We are survivors. And I will need breaks.
It does not bode well that the beginning of this hearing is starting with equating #Kavanaugh and #Ford's experiences with harassment following Dr. Ford's allegations. They are absolutely not the same.
