I have heard non-stop complaints from the right about "hysterical" and unfair Democratic treatment of Brett Kavanaugh, and even praising Lindsay Graham's diatribe in the hearing last week (e.g. Kathleen Parker's recent nauseating column).
As far as I've seen, Democratic politicians have bent over backwards to be fair and judicious about Brett Kavanaugh. However, the Democratic base is definitely upset, and they have every reason to be upset.
What's rarely said but is the silently screaming subtext to all this anger is that Brett Kavanugh will be a hard conservative vote on the Supreme Court that the rightwing hopes and the leftwing fears will not only insulate Trump from ongoing investigations but
will also overturn Roe versus Wade (take away women's rights) & overturn other progressive rulings.

There IS a huge amount at stake in this Supreme Court nomination.

This nomination also comes with the backdrop of a truly obnoxious, partisan president who assaults us daily--
A president who attacks our institutions and attacks our sensibilities with his breathtaking dishonesty and instability. A president WHO IS CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR TREASONOUS ACTS INVOLVING RUSSIA.
HOW DARE TRUMP AND THE GOP BRAZENLY STACK THE COURT WITH A HARD RIGHT PARTISAN AFTER STEALING A SUPREME COURT SEAT UNDER PRESIDENT OBAMA.
HOW DARE TRUMP AND THE GOP BRAZENLY STACK THE COURT WITH A HARD RIGHT PARTISAN TO PROTECT THIS GROSSLY DISHONEST AND LAWLESS PRESIDENT --WHO IS ALSO UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR TREASON!!!

1) In 2002 Manny Miranda stole thousands of documents belonging to Dems. Kavanaugh worked alongside Miranda. During a 2004 confirmation hearing Kavanaugh denied receiving any of the documents Miranda stole. In 2006 he lied again under oath. We now know he committed perjury.
2) At a 2006 confirmation hearing, Kavanaugh told @SenatorLeahy that he knew nothing of an illegal warrantless wiretapping program until the New York Times broke the story in 2005. Now we know he was lying. He committed perjury.
