But I am, possibly, atypical in my willingness to express this view publicly. I wouldn't be hugely surprised if Democrats discover to their horror they've fucked up the most winnable midterms in American history, as well as the most important ones.
American needed the Democrats to be the sane party--needed it more than we'd ever needed it in modern times, because we've never before had so dangerous and unhinged a GOP. I'll still vote for them in the midterms because it will check Trump's power.
But I suspect many who like me are just disgusted by this--by all of them, by the GOP, the Democrats, Kavenaugh, and Blasey alike, by the lying, the demagoguery, the media' race-to-the-bottom prurience, the hypocrisy --will stay home.
I wish there were some way to vote that would allow me to register my outrage at what the GOP has become *and* my utter revulsion with the Democrat's stupidity and irresponsibility. But there isn't.
If anyone has any good ideas how best to vote to kill the lunatic wings of both parties, and cause in their stead to rise newborn parties that represent traditional civic virtues and liberal democracy, please share them with me. Because I'm at a loss.
