I know all you lefties are telling yourselves the Kavanaugh victory for Republicans will hurt them in the midterms because now their voters will be satisfied and stay home, while your team is all juiced up with fury. You couldn't be more wrong.
For one thing, that's not how politics works. You're telling yourselves a version of the same bedtime story Republican politicians have been telling voters after every political debacle.
But here's the really big thing you're missing, lefties: the GOP base is ON FIRE right now, and it will stay on fire through November, BECAUSE OF YOU. Because of all the stupid and disgusting things Democrats are saying right now. Because of YOUR hysterics.
Democrats are going to go nuts over the next month. Republican voters will quietly march to the polls in huge numbers because they don't want the country run by nuts. /end

It would be nice if we could get past the notion that controversy equals merit. Sometimes you're not "living rent-free in their heads" or "taking fire because your'e over the target." You're suffering well-deserved criticism for saying something foolish or offensive.
It's gotten worse because of Internet culture, no doubt, where "hate clicks count the same." Cultivating controversy as a path to fame has never been easier. The quality of commentary is less important than its ability to provoke adversaries, rally allies, and go viral.
We've reached the absurd situation where people exaggerate outrage, or even conjure it out of thin air, so they can claim to be victims or pose as powerful champions whose enemies want to destroy them at all costs.

Trump himself has a tendency to point to Wall Street for good news about his policies, but he really ought to be phrasing it this way: "Wall Street struggled mightily while Main didn't."
We don't need a little tinkering around the edges of a moribund centralized economy to make investors happy. We need wholesale transformation at the Main Street level - people falling in love with capitalism again and laughing socialist buffoons off the stage.
I was gloomy yesterday about the debt crisis, but if there's one thing that MIGHT turn it around, it would be a seismic movement toward free markets. The demand for small government must increase before a crucial mass of voters will seriously entertain calls for debt reduction.

This is dangerous and a day of reckoning is fast approaching. Unfortunately the American electorate has demonstrated very little interest in doing anything about it. I'm not sure anything less than the leading edge of fiscal collapse will change their minds.
It's a bitter irony that people just don't see the national debt as a "pocketbook issue." For many it's just a partisan cudgel - the Left pretends to care about the debt when it wants to raise taxes, the Right to criticize left-wing spending programs.
But as far as their day-to-day lives go, the bulk of the electorate thinks of the debt as an abstract and distant problem, while any serious effort to control it would have direct and immediate negative effects on their lives, or the lives of dependent groups.

2/ Let's run down the LIES that Kavanaugh told - all of which have been ignored by @SenateGOP, @SenateDems, & our news outlets. I guess because they're not exciting. Because he wasn't a drunk teen, but a sitting Federal Judge when he did this. And then LIED UNDER OATH about it.
3/ HOME REPAIRS: He lied under oath about those home repairs.

How do I know this? Because someone did a forensic analysis of the city requirements for anyone doing the type of home repairs Kavanaugh claimed he did. Guess who never filed for a permit?

I write a lot of poems about sexual assault and rape culture. I perform these poems at slams all over the country, and when I do, women come up to me after the slam to tell me their stories.

So I'm not merely speaking about my own experience; this is a collective femme Catch 22.
The pressure is on us to report quickly; but victims are emotionally compromised by the situation.

2) Second, she has already taken a polygraph test. Has #Kavanaugh taken a polygraph test? No. And considering the number of times he has already been found to lie under oath, he probably should have!
