Antara yang tersenarai adalah cukai perniagaan digital, cukai harta warisan, cukai soda atau cukai gula, cukai keuntungan saham, dan 'cukai dosa' (sin tax) seperti cukai rokok, arak dan judi.
Situasi ini telah pun dijangka kerana pelaksanaan SST tidak cukup untuk menampung perbelanjaan kerajaan, dan kerajaan perlu meneroka sumber cukai baru sebagai alternatif yang lebih mampan.
Secara prinsipnya, cukai baru patut dikenakan terhadap 'lebihan kekayaan', bukan lagi dikenakan ke atas rakyat tanpa mengira tahap pendapatan dan kemampuan rakyat.
