Kavenaugh, having been confirmed, could have made a very powerful statement about the danger of our divisions and the path forward. Trump could have done the same. At some point, someone will either find such a means, or the nation will tear itself apart.
Unfortunately, people who are well equipped to win in such a corrupt, charged, political environment are rarely if ever going to be the sort to put the national interest first. The environment selects for an incompatible skill set.
