@_SJPeace_ Yesterday, I lost my wallet in a large Metropolitan area -- doing things I had to do. A Black woman from the Shaw Neighborhood (many would call it poor) found my wallet, found my phone # and called me; I met her in a library. She returned my wallet to me. I gave her a 'gift'
@_SJPeace_ of some $$ but what was the BEST PART -- i threw my arms around her smack in front of the service desk of the public library and she threw her arms around me. She then told me....."This was a GOD THING' for me - because I know If I lost my wallet I would WANT SOMEONE TO DO THIS
@_SJPeace_ FOR ME." We spent some time seated in comfortable chairs in the corner of the library talking. She helped me flag a cab to get home, and called me at home to "MAKE SURE YOU ARE ALRIGHT." I called her back this morning to thank her again. ALL MY ID'S - EVERYTHING - WERE
@_SJPeace_ IN THAT WALLET and I had gotten an EXPENSIVE WALLET so I wouldn't LOSE any of my important cards any more -- only a few months ago. And I AM LIVING ON SOCIAL SECURITY; I AM NOT RICH. I WILL BE 72 IN JANUARY (altho people think I'm 50 or even younger - tell me that all the time)
@_SJPeace_ This is HARDLY THE FIRST TIME IN MY ADULT LIFE that I have found the greatest kindness and the most 'giving hearts' I encounter in the Black population of this city.
