I love Elizabeth Warren and thank the stars above we have her speaking truth to power. I'm not entirely convinced this DNA test reveal was the best move on the board. Is she right? Of course, no doubt. But having an ancestor "6-10 generations ago" is begging to be misinterpreted.
And I'm not saying that's fair. Of course it's unfair. It sucks. But think of the attack ads: "Elizabeth Warren supposedly claims to be Native American with less than 1% lineage". It's going to leave her open to further mocking. But hey, I hope I'm wrong.
I just don't understand this strategy in our Era of Bad Faith. Even 10 years ago, I can see pundits unfairly dismissing this. And now? Good god, it's going to get slammed by some. I'm just not convinced this was worth it.
