DOJ is seeking to appeal a district court ruling from September that members of Congress have standing to sue Trump over allegations relating to the Foreign Emoluments Clause. Background on the September ruling, from @ZoeTillman: buzzfeednews.com/article/zoetil…
Because of the type of ruling, which was only on standing (whether are appropriate plaintiffs to bring the lawsuit in the first place), an appeal would normally not be allowed at this time. DOJ is asking for an order from the district court allowing it to appeal that ruling now.
