🔎1-Today in the Southern District of New York, Sayoc was charged in a 30 count indictment with mailing improvised explosive devices. What he did is without a doubt absolutely wrong and indeed caused fear but there’s something missing from his charges (quick thread) 
2- Pouring through similar charges the explanation of all these devices has always included “fuse” along with other extensive details about the device. Often times the charges, rightfully so, mention intent to kill etc.
3- Zeroing in on a charge filed in NY, since that’s where he was just charged, we’ll take this case as a comparison. The indictment here went into great detail about the devices including the criminals search and purchase of explosive material.
4- In Sayoc’s lengthy press release this is the only explanation of the actual devices. Nowhere will you find the word “fuse” although it does say explosive material and some containing shards of glass, which is still dangerous.

5- His indictment calls it a destructive device, then jumps to IED but never again mentions a single detail about the devices. Furthermore not once does it say there was intention to kill so we can at least surmise although potentially harmful, they were not deadly.
6-It looks like the closest we’ll ever get to an explanation is from the DOJ who says it’s “energetic material with explosive qualities” and they are deemed “dangerous” 🤷🏼♀️
7- There is one little nugget from the Soros scare, they say it appeared to be an IED and that at least the one sent there had a battery but what does “rendered safe the contents of the package” mean?
8- This is right when they found his infamous van, nobody looks too scared in fact there isn’t even a bomb sniffing dog? Nowhere in his documents do they explain where he got the material, what it was, browsing history for “how to make IED” whereas every other similar charge does
9- It’s understandable why Authorities can’t stay they were “fakes” because some sicko copycat could take advantage of that BUT no one should compare this string events to actual violence ie: Scalise and four others being shot. That’s all.
10-,LAST THING! It says he mailed all of them. Wasn’t it confirmed that the CNN one was by courier?
