Step 2 is going to be to call them every day, visit their town halls, demonstrate as necessary and scream at them to actually fight the fight we voted for them to fight. Their natural setting is status quo.
No bipartisan deals.
No olive branches.
No return to norms. There are no norms to return to.
Republicans have proven themselves ruthlessly committed to demolishing democracy. Don't give the scorpion a ride across the river.
Fight.
They need to know that if we hear 'bi-partisan' we're looking for primary challengers, and we need to mean it.
We can mostly trust them not to be nightmare people ruthlessly committed to whipping up bigotry so they can sell the country from underneath us and leave us to die ... but we're going to need better.
Positive reinforcement or negative, whatever's warranted.
