Temples are not tourist places.

Every temple in our country, specially, ancient ones have certain traditions attached 2 it. Each one has its own set of rules, which have 2 be followed by whoever enter that temple.
Rich or poor, male or female it doesn't matter. Rules r rules.
The richness of our religion comes from the diverse traditions and rituals that we follow. Bcs ultimately, whichever Bhagvan we worship, in whatever form He/She maybe, our ultimate aim is to realise the Atman within us.
We come from the Param Atma (cosmic energy) and return back to it. So realising our Atma is a way of purifying ourselves before we go back to the Param Atma. That is why the ultimate goal of Sanatana Dharma is Moksha. Coming out of the cycle or rebirth & joining the Param Atma.
Temples have been places where we could pray to Bhagvan or Shakti, sit peacefully in contemplation and soak in the aura or energy of the divine. Bcs ancient temples have always been energy sources.
Many scoff at the theory, but then they r the non believers.
How many times have u gone to a temple thinking of asking something to Bhagvan, but once you see the divine murthi, forget abt it and take in the peace that comes 2 u within?
Non believers can stay out. When u don't believe, why enter? Simple logic.
Our temples, our heritage.
Our ancient temples are not only powerful but beautiful too. It is wrong of govts to project them as tourist spots. You cannot throw open temples to non believers. The damage done by various invaders to our shrines has been immense. No more. No longer.
Temples which are without the mula Virat (Deity) may be projected as a tourist place, but certainly not a temple which is with its Prana intact.
If you do not have Bhakti towards the Shakti within, u r not welcome.
By non believers, I do not mean non Hindus, but include Hindus 2
U may ask why I say this, I will explain.
Last year I went to Udaipur. In Jagdishji mandir, a group of foreigners came with an Indian who was acting as a guide. They came in, did pranam to Jagdishji and sat towards the back of the temple for 15 minutes. Bhajan was going on.
They sat in absolute silence, watching respectfully. Then they got up & left very quietly. In fact 2 ladies took backward steps till they reached the steps & only then turned back. I was impressed that they not only respected our tradition, but did something that even I don't do.
They did not show their back to God as they thought it would be a sign of disrespect.
My mother when she went 2 Tiruvannamalai saw foreign lady devotees who did rituals at Ramana ashram with full Bhakti. Mum was saying when they believe, they do evrything with full dedication.
A month later I went to Birla Mandir in Hyd. I was standing in the queue. 2 girls & a guy, Hindus only, were there before me. They were chatting loudly non stop. Not only me, but people around were displeased but didn't say anything.
When they were abt to enter the sanctum, still talking loudly, I could no longer control myself. I told them to keep quiet atleast then. Finally they shut up.
The reason why I am telling these episodes is that when you project a temple as a tourist spot, this is what happens.
Temples should be only for believers.
Since non Hindus of our country have taken it upon themselves 2 harm our faith, it is better 2 open temples only for Hindus.
If temples r not tourist spots, then the non believing Hindus also will not come. Atleast I hope so. 🙏
