We reject the racism of Cindy Hyde-Smith's recent "hanging" comment. Such language calls back to the horror of many lives lost due to racial mob violence here & nationally. Alluding to attending "public hangings" ie lynchings seems antithetical to a pro-life position 1/10
We also condemn @PhilBryantMS's attempt to deflect from her statement by attempting to shame and stigmatize black women who have abortions as committing genocide. This is a highly racist attack that does not go unnoticed. We are not ashamed nor are we criminals.

To the contrary black women are the backbone of the black community. A majority of those who have abortions are mothers. One can not be birthing and raising a race of people and directing it's genocide at the same time.

MS has one of the worst black maternal & infant mortality rates in the US, our heath dept. family planning prog is underfunded, public ed is underfunded and in all these areas Bryant has done nothing. 7/10
Study after study shows abstinence only sex ed. doesn't work yet it is the only sex ed Bryant has worked towards.
He has made sure TANF is near impossible to access in our state.

On top of all of this there are his campaigns to shame teen parents. Nothing says "choose life" and parenting is a valid option like big billboards and events shaming teens who stay pregnant. 9/10 
Bottomline: A racist governor who has done the absolute least to protect living black children has no room to judge the reproductive decisions of black Mississippians, ever. 10/10
