What other minority group is told to check their oppression at the door lest it make other people uncomfortable? The very reason why this is a problem for us is b/c we are a part of this struggle & are being told we're not allowed to be.
When the NoI controversy first surfaced, Jewish activists weren't calling for anyone to step down, be removed or written off. We asked the Women's March leaders to recognize how their actions hurt us & made us unwelcome. But we were told to sit down & shut up.
Calling out a gay person who also happens to be a pedophile may also weaponize a classic anti-gay libel for hateful outsiders. But that doesn't mean we should be silent in such a situation either.
"Linda Sarsour's people" did no lose their agency or their self-determination. They are robbed of their agency by people like Bobkoff who act as though they aren't adult humans who have rejected every offer of self-determination put on the table.
I've yet to hear any progressive ever tell a Muslim they need to recognize that someone's Islamophobia may be based on the reality of how Islamist terrorism has impacted their lives.

We've asked them to be mindful of our pain and they told us to sit down and shut up. They told us our pain doesn't matter just like Bobkoff is telling us it isn't as important as the pain of other minorities.
Here's the real kicker: Bobkoff actually says that all Jewish concerns about antisemitism in this context is just us resorting to racist & Islamophobic weapons that harms Muslim & Black women.

Jews are the ones who have already chose to walk this uncomfortable path. It is our supposed allies who have told us they aren't interested in walking with us. This is like telling a battered wife she needs to go to couples therapy when it's the husband who refuses to do so.
