When I see some tweets about Nigeria being destroyed by PDP, even though I'm not a politician and have no party I'm of the opinion that some of us are insincere.
Let me explain..
One of the measure of good governance can be income per capital... Which is huge grammar
So let's
Make it simple
Infrastructure...
NITEL, as at 99 had about Max 500k registered lines, many homes had phones but were off grid cos of bills they could not pay off. People went to people's homes and booked to receive calls at certain times when someone will call, Nigerians..
Queued up to make calls in public
phone boots and in some cases you had to walk some distances from your home.
Education...How many universities were in Nigeria? I mean both states and federal before 99? Admission for some might have been more difficult but for new universities
NEPA... How many power plants were in Nigeria before 99 and how many are there today? How many rural communities had light before 99? Was there anything like pre-payed metering before?

How were civil servants fairing before 99? My parents were... I mean common home equipments
Like television (coloured) and VCR were measures of rich Vs poor. I remember even people putting soup in other people's refrigerator lol or borrowing electric iron to press cloths.... I mean civil servants ooo.
Let alone owning a car or building a house...
I'm Not saying its all
Kumbaya now, I'm saying many families moved a mile away from poverty following the first introduction of 6,5 minimum wage. Argue all you can now..
I lived in that Nigeria and I know things are not good now, but don't say Nigeria was this and that before 99.
The early 90's ushered
In all sorts of diet by families to survive....Remember the kwashiokor epidemics of early 90's?
Nigerian airways and Railways died a slow painful death because of gross mismanagement.
When obasanjo took over he bemoaned the state of Nigerian airways saying he left 27 planes in 79
Only to meet three in 99.
I'm not an apologist for any political party, but democracy since 99 regardless of political party helped Nigeria and Nigerians.
Many more..
could have been done, especially institutional reforms... Such that civil and public servants rise to the highest possible standards of practice and conduct, which for me is the failure of leadership in Nigeria.
Nigerians accept anyhowness, there's no standard anywhere.
We accept
Mediocrity and this is our greatest undoing.
Our institutions are unproductive, our hospitals are not research or protocol oriented, our government ministries are unproductive e.g ministry of works/minning may not even have adequate engineers or geologists, our schools lack proper
Qualified teachers because the package is not motivating the good ones to join teaching as the package is poor.
Our good brains are leaving the country and our leaders do not care.
I'm making this post, so that we can stop all this PDP ruined the country, it's a distraction.
Call people by their names and the ministry they occupied and ran down, when you say PDP, it's no body.
The person accusing PDP today because he's in APC, might have even been the person who killed a government ministry while in PDP, but today is a saint.
