My Statement on the sad passing of Dr Frederick Fasehun.👇
Sad to hear the news of the passing of Dr. Frederick Fasehun. Baba as we all call him served his people in his own way, we agreed to disagree on a lot of issues but his commitment to the Yoruba and to Nigeria was never in doubt.
Dr. Frederick Fasehun's courage in the face of adversity was amicable and adopted by many who served with him. It was a privilege serving as Secretary General in the same Executive Council with Dr Fasehun,
we faced a lot together, had robust debates, had a lot to agree on and many more to disagree on, in everything Dr respected the right to disagree, in all we learn that we are not all perfect.
My hearts go out to Febi, the Fasehun Family, all members and executive of the Oodua Peoples Congress and the people of my my home state of Ondo.
In this time of sorrow.
My family, former comrades in the OPC and friends and Comrades in all Oodua Self Determination Groups send our collective thoughts of comfort and condolences to the Fasehun family.
Our collective hearts are heavy with sympathy. We share in your sorrow with comradeship, solidarity, love and friendship.
May Doctor Frederick Fasehun's soul

Who is Fasehun?

"Fasehun was born in Ondo Town, Ondo State in 1938.
He was a medical doctor and hotel owner and was responsible for the recent revival of the Unity Party of Nigeria, a party formed by the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo in the 1970s.
He studied science at Blackburn College and furthered his education at Aberdeen University College of Medicine. He also studied at the Liverpool Postgraduate School after which he had a Fellowship at the Royal College of Surgeons, according to Wikipedia.
In 1976, he studied acupuncture in China under a joint World Health Organization and United Nations Development Scholarship Program.

In 1977, he set up an Acupuncture Unit at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital.
He resigned in 1978 and immediately set up the Besthope Hospital and Acupuncture Centre in Lagos. The Acupuncture Centre once earned a reputation as Africa’s first for the Chinese medical practice.
The OPC is a Yoruba-based organization formed to actualise the annulled mandate of Chief MKO Abiola, who won the presidential election of 12 June 1993 but was barred from office.
Fasehun was imprisoned for 19 months from December 1996 to June 1998 during the military rule of Sani Abacha."☝️☝️☝️ Source @MobilePunch
