I think I've found a glitch in the matrix and I think I need your help to think about it.
So as a social species we're "supposed" to intuit the feelings and thoughts of others without them explicitly saying them.
But I have generalised anxiety disorder. My brain makes things up and usually those things are worst case scenarios.
To manage my generalised anxiety disorder I have to (try to) recognise and disregard thoughts that are based on speculation.
How does this marry with the idea of reading people without them explicitly explaining their thoughts and feelings to you?
I feel like it is either one or the other. Either I rely on my intuition (which results in anxious thoughts) or I only accept explicit expressions of someone's thoughts and feelings as fact.
But this doesn't work. Not really. People are worn down when you continuously ask for clarification. Or you're accused of over thinking. I understand, people want to be understood on a subspoken level. I know I do sometimes.
So how do I deal with this? How do you deal with this? Is my thinking wrong? Have I missed something? Twitter help me.
