It's my last full day in Papua New Guinea tomorrow so I've decided to do a thread compiling all my favorite images of the 5 years I've spent here. It's been great and horrible at the same time but I'm going to miss it. It's a beautiful country and I totally recommend you visit.
one of my first photos. i did a bit of part time volunteering at the lae nature park a long, long time ago, but i quit shortly after realizing they weren't actually conserving any of the animals. they were regularly kidnapped and a security guard was shot and killed on a shift. 
the park was also home to a huge fucking croc. i forgot his name but every morning i used to feed the lad. i hope he's doing okay rn. u a real one
this one is really blurry (i had a shitty phone do not bully) but it's the (greater) bird of paradise. beautiful bird. very noisy too, they also get better treatment from caretakers because of their status as a national symbol. "better" still doesn't mean great, though.
we eventually adopted a tree kangaroo. we built a pretty impressive cage for him & he was very sweet. the boy loved to chill out on shoulders and eat leaves. we gave him over to the port moresby nature park after 6 months. he's still there.

our first cat. also a huge sweetie. sadly he's no longer with us, and i'm not going to go into any details. but i miss him and i know he's in a better place.
for some reason the local morobe fair that happens once a year decides to sell colored chickens. sorry lads but these aren't pets and im sure you know what that actually means
i also did a bit of voluntary work with guard dogs. they're serious work dogs but this one was a huge sucker for love when he wasn't working. highlight of this was being able to wear a bite suit for their training. you don't fuck with these dogs

crocodile farm. sadly these guys die so entitled liberal white women can strut around with a purse made of their skin. yes, crocs are not exactly endangered but i still do not endorse

not papua new guinea but timor-leste. best diving in the world i shit you not. lmk if you ever think about going, i can hook you up with some cool places to go.
goroka, high up in the mountains and home to the mudmen. i love it here. the weather is surprisingly chilly and it's incredibly scenic. if i ever come back i'll def do more hiking here.

im gonna miss some great dives, there's nothing more relaxing than a day out on these waters
we also got a second cat and named her athena. she was an incredible cat. sadly the local RSPCA lied to us and refuses to give her back. I have no idea where she is or if she's okay but all i know is I'm never giving my money to their organization again. fuck them, i miss her
im sure u guys have already seen this absolute king and mad lad. he's also v sweet and a big troublemaker. god speed king

slightly more recent photos. turtle in the second photo frequents two of the dive sites i go to. if he shows up i always have some food for him. turtles are rad and they need to be protected
more than ANYTHING i am going to miss my bird. she is my pride and joy and i poast abt her a lot. she's made a full recovery from her injuries and is currently with the port moresby nature park. im going to visit her tomorrow for the last time and i will probably cry tbh
