Council standing committees set by the Striking Committee today. These still need to be approved by council. toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2… (PDF)
Planning & Housing is the most progressive committee by make-up, with Perks, Fletcher and Wong-Tam, plus Bradford, Bailao and Robinson. No hard-line conservatives.
James Pasternak will chair Parks & Infrastructure Committee. He’s one of only four returning councillors who opposed the King Street pilot.
Here’s the budget committee recommended by the Striking Committee. Putting Shelley Carroll on there is significant - she knows the budget better than most.
This is probably the most baffling of Tory’s appointments. Coun. Stephen Holyday was one of just four councillors (with M Ford, Thompson and Karygiannis) to strongly vote for the council cut, and he gets put in charge of the committee responsible for restructuring government?
One of Tory’s other questionable appointments: returning Councillor Mark Grimes to Chair of Exhibition Place Board of Governors. (Cressy is the only appointee here to represent a ward near Exhibition Place.)
Per the Striking Committee’s recommendation — which still needs to be confirmed by council — your municipal representation on the Toronto Police Services Board will be Frances Nunziata, Michael Ford and John Tory.
Striking Committee’s recommended TTC Board appointees include Jim Karygiannis, enthusiastic backer of a Sheppard Subway extension, and Jennifer McKelvie, who wants to return to the three-stop Scarborough subway plan.
The best news for progressives in this appointments package: Coun. Joe Cressy will replace Denzil MInnan-Wong on the Waterfront Toronto Board, and Coun. Paula Fletcher as the mayor’s designate on the CreateTO board. CreateTO makes decisions about selling city-owned land.
Tory has also informed the striking committee that he’ll be moving a motion tomorrow to modify the composition of the TTC board to add Coun. Shelley Carroll. If successful the board will include six councillors and four citizen appointees.
Executive Committee is Mayor Tory + deputy mayor (Minnan-Wong) + member at large (Nunziata) + budget chair (Crawford) + four committee chairs. (Pasternak, Bailão, Thompson, Ainslie)

Here’s how it looks on a map.
Most overall committee/board appointments (not all finalized yet): Joe Cressy (10), Mike Layton (8), Stephen Holyday (8), Paul Ainslie (8)

Fewest: James Pasternak (2), Michael Thompson (2), Josh Matlow (2)
