The kids from Sandy Hook should be in middle school today.

The kids that survived are in middle school... still practicing active shooter drills.

She had a Bachelors degree from the University of Hartford, a Master's degree from Post University and she was working on her doctorate. and

6 years ago she was named a hero for protecting and comforting the kids during the massacre. She was also killed.

As I’m writing this necessarily lengthy memorial to those lost 6 years ago today in Newtown.. the kids who CURRENTLY attend SandyHook elementary are being evacuated due to a threat.

6 year olds born after the massacre are hiding in the same school.

Lauren Rousseau, 30

Lauren was a permanent substitute teacher at Sandy Hook Elementary.

Her mother said that the last year of her life was the greatest because had finally landed a permanent job at a school.

The school psychologist who joined AnneMarie in confronting the shooter in the hallway.

She worked long hours if it meant helping people.

She worked hard for her kids and was described by friends and family as goofy.

Those are the 26 lives that we lost 6 years ago today in an American Elementary school.

26 people died in that school.. 96 die every single day in America from gun violence... we know their stories but we won’t know the other 70 that share that day of memory.
We have to do better.

This shouldn’t be possible in a great nation.

We have had 300+ mass shootings in America THIS YEAR.

When the UK experienced a similar shooting as Sandy Hook... they came together and have nearly ended gun violence.

Let’s end gun violence together.💚
